Homeownership Preservation
PMI does its part to preserve the American dream.
In response to the ongoing crisis in the U.S. mortgage market, PMI has assumed a leadership role at the national policy level in an effort to maximize homeownership preservation and minimize foreclosure. PMI was the first mortgage insurer to be a member of the HOPE NOW Alliance, a nonprofit comprised of loan originators and servicers, counselors, investors and other industry participants.
In addition, PMI has assembled a team of very experienced professionals to assist our loan servicers and their homeowners in avoiding foreclosure. We also provide options to help servicers resolve delinquent loans more efficiently and reduce servicing costs through our Homeownership Preservation Initiatives (HPI) program. How successful is this effort? In 2008, PMI helped over 3,700 homeowners avoid foreclosure and almost 18,000 families remain in their homes.
Through these efforts, PMI does its part to preserve the American dream.
