Pre-Purchase Homebuyer Education (HBE) Online Information
PMI would like to make your home buying experience as simple and stress free as possible, by providing online HBE in English and Spanish. PMI gives you the flexibility to conduct your counseling session at your own pace and convenience.
To register for PMI's Pre-Purchase online HBE, first ensure your lender has approved this method for Pre-Purchase HBE then complete the registration form. Once submitted, the following business day you will receive an email confirmation with an ID, password and website link to login and begin your online HBE course. You will be able to log on and off as many times as needed until your online counseling is completed and a certificate has been printed. The online counseling program consists of an interactive learning course.
Once you have read through all the chapters and completed the worksheets you can begin the quiz. Should you score less than 80%, you will then have the ability to retake the quiz. Upon passing the final quiz, you can click on your certificate which will appear with your name(s) and may then be printed.
Our online counseling was developed using PMI's "Becoming a Successful Homeowner." To familiarize yourself with the homebuyer education material, you can preview or download our guide once you have submitted your registration form.
Note: If multiple borrowers, only one borrower must complete the counseling. All borrower names will be on the certificate of completion.
